Australian Taxation Office

About

The ATO app simplifies tax and superannuation management for individuals and sole traders. It helps users track tax returns, view due dates, and monitor superannuation balances. For example, a sole trader can easily record business income and expenses throughout the year for straightforward tax filing.

What Stands Out

• •Track your tax return progress from lodgment to outcome, ensuring you know the status of your filing.
• •Monitor upcoming lodgment and payment deadlines, allowing for timely action to avoid penalties.
• •Record work-related expenses and income using the myDeductions tool for easy tax time uploading.
• •View your superannuation balance and contributions overview to stay informed about your retirement savings.

Things to Consider

A linked myGov account is necessary for personalized tax and superannuation services within the app. GPS usage for trip recording in myDeductions can significantly reduce battery life, so users should manage this feature accordingly. Verify details on the official ATO website for any updates.
